Includes one Type B Filter Cartridge (#59905E). Chlorination Process Description: What is saline conversion chlorination? Saline chlorination is a term used for the process of converting the salt dissolved in water into active liquid chlorine, known as hypochlorite, for the sanitization of swimming pool & spa water. How does saline conversion chlorination work? A specific quantity of pure, non-iodized, fine grain table salt is added to the pool water to create a saltwater (saline) concentration of 0.3% (3000 parts per million). This salinity concentration is slightly less than the salinity level found in most human tears, thus it is very gentle to the swimmer's eyes and skin. Liquid chlorine (hypochlorite) is created through a process called electrolysis. As the water pump passes the saline through the chlorinator cell a low voltage DC current is applied to the saline. This applied energy current changes the salt dissolved in the water into liquid chlorine (hypochlorite). The liquid chlorine immediately mixes with the water leaving the chlorinator cell and flows into the swimming pool as clean, chlorinated water. The continuous introduction of liquid chlorine will ensure the continuous sanitization of the pool's water and will not allow the growth of algae. When the liquid chlorine has destroyed the bacteria in the pool, it reverts to salt. This means that the salt is continually regenerated in the process and the only loss of salt is due to backwashing, splash-out and overflow. It may be necessary to add salt to the pool water to bring the concentration back to the desired level of 3,000 parts per million. This form of chlorination will not damage your pool! Chlorine "tablets" or "powder" can damage the pool liner while saline conversion will not. Also, the mildly salted water will not affect the PVC plumbing, filters or pump. Saline chlorination is easier and safer! You will not need to buy or store any dangerous chemicals as you would for a pool with an out-dated conventional filtration pump. You will not need to "shock" this pool with raw chlorine as you would with older pools. Plus, the chlorine generator is self-cleaning which makes it 100% maintenance free! 50 salinity test strips are included! The test strips will allow you to easily test the water's salinity level to determine if you need to add salt. This supply of 50 test strips should last you at least two summers. No tools required to set up pool! No sand required! All you need is level ground. Intex Oval Frame Ellipse Pools are constructed with SUPER-TOUGH™ heavy guage material and the Ellipse Pools' SUPER-TOUGH™ sidewalls are triple strong. The sidewalls are made with 3 separate layers of material for extra strength and durability - two outer layers of heavy-gauge pvc laminated to an inner layer of polyester mesh for extra reinforcement. The quality and design of this material results in extra strength and extreme durability. This reinforced PVC plastic is much thicker than comparable above ground pools. SUPER-TOUGH™ Plastic: A high molecular PVC plastic that is unaffected by gasoline, oil and salt water. It is highly resistant to damage from abrasion, impact and sunlight. It also allows more air pressure for rigidity while maintaining the PVC material's natural flexibility. Great for adults and kids (children should be supervised by competent adults when in or around this pool). Cleans easily with deluxe pool sweep and vacuum kit (included). Drains conveniently! Drain plug accepts a garden hose to drain water away from the pool area if desired. Folds easily for storage. Affordable! And much easier to set up and disassemble than any rigid steel walled pool. Important Shipping Information: This above ground pool package must ship via freight truck on a freight pallet. You must provide a daytime telephone number so the freight company can call to schedule a delivery. You MUST be home to sign for and receive the delivery. You MUST inspect the pool package contents for damage at the time of delivery. If the pool and its accessories are not in acceptable condition you must refuse the shipment to the freight driver. If you refuse a pool shipment that is not damaged beyond the outer packaging you will not be refunded any of the shipping charges. The freight company will unload the pool from the truck and you will be responsible for the pool at that point. Most freight truck drivers will help you move the pool once off the truck however this is at the discretion of the driver and not a guaranteed service so you should make arrangements for help to move the pool package about your property.
